Things to do in Auvers-sur-Oise

Auvers-sur-Oise is the village where Vincent van Gogh spent his final months in 1890, painting the church, the wheat fields and the town hall that still stand today. It sits roughly 35 kilometres north-west of Paris, reached by train in about an hour, usually with a change at Pontoise or Valmont. This is a different village from Giverny, home to Claude Monet's garden further west: keep the two apart. The catalogue lists only a handful of tours here, not a wide programme, so treat this as a short outing built around the Van Gogh sites rather than a full day away from Paris.
