Paris is in France, part of the Schengen Area, and entry rules depend on your passport. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can travel freely with just a valid national ID card or passport. Visa-exempt nationalities — including the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Japan — can stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period without a visa, but will be registered biometrically under the new Entry/Exit System (EES) on first crossing an external Schengen border. What every traveller needs to know

Non-EU travellers should carry a passport issued within the last 10 years and valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned departure date from the Schengen Area.
The Entry/Exit System (EES) records fingerprints and a photo at your first entry through an external Schengen border; expect a longer wait than usual on that first crossing, with a normal passport check afterwards.
ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in force for visa-exempt nationalities — confirm the current status on travel-europe.europa.eu shortly before departure.
The 90-days-within-180-days rule applies across the whole Schengen Area, not just France, so time spent in other Schengen countries counts toward the same limit.
